Our Process.

Our integrated design process provides seamless creativity through planning, architecture, interior design, and building. This process gives our clients security and confidence that their project will be clear and balanced between plans, qualities, finishes, and cost. Our approach to design/build allows us to handle your custom home or remodel project from conception to completion saving you time and money. Here is the process:

Plan.

First meeting: Interview, discussion, discovery. Put a name with the face. Find out who we are and how we can serve you. Discuss project concept (lot, land, general scope of work, ideas and feasibility, general pricing, timing, contracts, clarify services.)

Determine whether to engage our design services or to provide your own plans or architect. We will integrate your plans or designer into our process.

Design.

  • Project Vision Meeting – “Tell us what you want”

  • Lot/ Site meeting – “Embrace the land” and/or “Assess the Opportunity”

  • Initial Design meeting- share sketches and examples, pictures, create ideas, room orientations, type of architecture, etc.

  • Preliminary plans review – evaluate prelim floor plan and elevation. Make revisions and changes as needed.

  • Develop Detailed Construction Specifications – identify preliminary interior and exterior materials and finishes (for prelim cost evaluation)

  • Preliminary Project Cost Evaluation

  • Space Planning and Design Updates

  • Final Construction Plans and Specifications, Final Project Budget

Build.

Budgeting and Scheduling-We will obtain subcontractor and vendor bids based on your approved Specifications and confirm the overall budget for your project. Once the project permit has been issued and selections completed we will confirm schedule and construction begins!

Home Construction-MBG is a “full service” home builder. We handle all aspects of construction- permitting, manage all subcontractors, consultants, and vendors, obtain inspections, and resolve issues as they arise. Construction will be overseen by your builder, who will be on site ensuring all work is done to specifications, using the highest quality building materials and techniques.

Home Completion and Warranty- Closing out the details of your new home is the last process! Jeff will join you along with our project manager and design coordinator for your Homeowner Orientation- a meeting that goes beyond the traditional walk-through in which we will compile a final "punch list", perform orientation of your home features, review of information on maintenance, and cover warranty. Upon punch list completion it is move in time!
